Job Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Joiner to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and finishing bespoke wooden components with precision and craftsmanship. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for carpentry and joinery to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The position involves working on various projects, from bespoke furniture to structural components, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout. Candidates must be committed to safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble wooden components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery techniques
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to produce accurate pieces
  • Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, drills, sanders, and planers with care and precision
  • Perform finishing tasks including sanding, polishing, and applying protective coatings to ensure a professional finish
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure specifications are met and project deadlines are achieved
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Undertake heavy lifting of materials safely and efficiently during fabrication and assembly processes

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bench Joiner or in a similar carpentry/joinery role within construction or manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and joinery techniques using both hand tools and power tools
  • Practical understanding of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and stand for extended periods during work shifts
