Exhibition Stand Builder / Exhibition Installer

Guardian Display Ltd – Leigh-on-Sea, Essex

About Guardian Display

Guardian Display is a busy and growing exhibition stand design and build company delivering exhibition stands for clients across the UK and Europe.

We manage the complete process for our clients, including production, graphics, transport, installation and dismantling of exhibition stands.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add new Exhibition Stand Builders / Installers to our team.

Previous exhibition experience is NOT essential. We are happy to train the right people who have a practical mindset, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

The Role

You will work as part of our growing and experienced installation team, building and dismantling exhibition stands at venues throughout the UK and Europe.

When not working onsite, you will be based at our Essex premises preparing exhibition stands and equipment ready for upcoming events.

Your duties will include:

· Building and dismantling exhibition stands

· Installing modular exhibition systems, walling, flooring and displays

· Fitting printed graphics and signage

· Installing TVs, shelving, counters and other stand furniture

· Loading and unloading company vehicles

· Preparing equipment and materials for upcoming exhibitions

· Checking returned equipment after events

· Keeping the warehouse and work areas organised

· Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance

· Working from plans and build drawings

· Working closely with our project and production teams

· Driving company vehicles when/where required

Who We’re Looking For

No previous exhibition industry experience needed

This role is ideally suited to someone with a practical background such as construction, carpentry, window fitting, shopfitting, warehouse installation, removals, signage, events, maintenance or similar. We are equally interested in anyone looking to begin their career in the event and exhibition industry.

The most important things to us are your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

You should be:

· Practical and comfortable using basic hand and power tools

· Hard working and physically fit

· Reliable and punctual

· Able to work well as part of a team

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

· Willing to learn new skills

· Able to maintain high standards of workmanship

· Flexible regarding working hours

· Happy to travel throughout the UK and occasionally Europe

· Comfortable with early starts, late finishes and occasional overnight stays

Full UK driving licence is highly desirable.

Experience with carpentry, joinery, construction, exhibition stands, signage or installation work would be an advantage but is not essential.

Working Hours

The exhibition industry does not operate standard 9-5 hours, so flexibility is a very important factor when considering this position.

There will be periods involving early starts, evenings and weekends depending on exhibition schedules.

Overtime is paid in addition to the £28,000 basic salary.

Travel and overnight stays will also be required for some projects.
