Full job description

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a leading engineering and construction contractor to recruit a Project Manager to join its project team based in Bridgwater at Hinkley Point C.

The Project Manager role offers both permanent and contract opportunities, with a package of up to £75,000 for a permanent Project Manager, or up to £450 per day on a contract basis.

Responsibilities and duties of the Project Manager role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing projects from initial planning through to successful completion
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery schedules
  • Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Managing NEC contract administration and supporting commercial activities
  • Monitoring project performance, quality standards and risk management
  • Building strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
  • Producing project reports and providing regular progress updates
  • Supporting resource planning, recruitment and team development
  • Promoting a positive health, safety and quality culture across all project activities

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 contract administration
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors
  • Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation within construction
  • Relevant Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to pass BPSS security clearance and Drugs & Alcohol testing
  • Right to live and work in the UK

Salary and benefits of the Project Manager role

  • Competitive salary or day rate of up to £75,000 or £450 per day
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday role
  • Additional annual leave with length of service, and birthday leave
