What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct detailed fire door and passive fire inspections to assess compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Identify and record defects or non-compliant elements within fire doors, frames, and associated hardware.
  • Carry out risk assessments to evaluate potential fire safety impacts and prioritise remedial actions.
  • Produce comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and support on fire door maintenance, compartmentation, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and fire safety officers to ensure installations meet regulations.
  • Contribute to training and awareness sessions for building occupants and staff on fire safety best practice.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices within passive fire protection.

  • Excellent technical understanding of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital reporting systems.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (travel and overnight stays required).

Health, Safety & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Mitie Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.
  • Report any deficiencies, hazards, or equipment issues promptly.
  • Ensure correct use of PPE and tools, in line with training and company procedures.
  • Comply with information security processes and report any security concerns.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with company vehicle, fuel card, and paid travel/accommodation.
  • Structured training and progression, including support towards FIRAS accreditation.
  • Full PPE, uniform, and digital equipment provided.
  • The chance to be part of the Fire Protection division that's growing rapidly nationwide.
