Full job description

This isn't just another Assistant Manager role.

We are building something special; an independent local restaurant & bar centred around exceptional pizza, drinks and genuine hospitality. We're looking for an ambitious hospitality professional who wants more than simply running shifts. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of a growing, well-respected local business.

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, take ownership of your department and contribute ideas that genuinely influence how the business develops. Whether it's improving service standards, creating seasonal drinks, developing menus, refining systems or helping drive the business forward, your voice will be valued.

If you're someone who enjoys taking responsibility, thrives on continuous improvement and wants to build a long-term career within an independent restaurant, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the restaurant confidently in the General Manager's absence.
  • Take ownership of daily operations, ensuring exceptional service and smooth, efficient shifts.
  • Coach, inspire and develop the front of house team through positive leadership.
  • Create memorable guest experiences and build lasting relationships with our regulars.
  • Work alongside the General Manager on menu development, drinks offerings and seasonal promotions.
  • Contribute ideas to improve service, efficiency, profitability and the overall guest experience.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing team development.
  • Help manage labour, stock control, ordering and weekly stock takes.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, licensing and health & safety compliance.
  • Support marketing initiatives, local events and community engagement as the business continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a quality restaurant, bar or hospitality venue.
  • A confident leader who enjoys taking ownership and making decisions.
  • Someone with entrepreneurial thinking who wants to contribute beyond the day-to-day operation.
  • Passion for food, drink and genuine hospitality.
  • Commercial awareness and a desire to help grow a successful independent business.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus generous tips.
  • A genuine opportunity to influence the direction of the business.
  • Autonomy, trust and responsibility from day one.
  • Involvement in menu development, drinks list, events and business improvements.
  • The chance to grow with a respected independent restaurant that's investing in its future.
  • Team meals on shift.
  • Team discount.
  • A supportive team that values initiative, creativity and fresh ideas.

If you're looking for a role where you'll be trusted, listened to and given the opportunity to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV and tell us why you'd be a great fit. Email hr@zinispizzabar.com.
