Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Renewables Site Manager to oversee domestic renewable energy installation projects across the Cambridge and Ely areas, specialising in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and Solar PV installations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing renewable energy division, managing multiple site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You will take responsibility for day-to-day site operations, coordinating labour, materials and programmes while ensuring installations meet all relevant technical, health and safety, and compliance requirements. Experience within social housing, domestic retrofit or planned works environments would be particularly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple domestic renewable energy installation projects.
  • Oversee Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and Solar PV installations, ensuring works meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate multiple installation teams, subcontractors and site operatives to maintain productivity and programme targets.
  • Plan and monitor project programmes, workloads and installation schedules to ensure works are completed on time.
  • Ensure labour, materials, equipment and other resources are available to support planned installations.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, quality audits and snagging checks to minimise defects and remedial works.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring risk assessments, method statements and site documentation are completed correctly.
  • Monitor site performance, productivity and workmanship, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain accurate site records, installation evidence, progress reports and compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, residents, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Ensure installations comply with relevant building regulations, industry standards and PAS 2030 requirements where applicable.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure all works are completed in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Identify and resolve site issues, programme delays and resource constraints before they affect project delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement across installation processes, resident experience and overall project performance.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within renewable energy installations, retrofit or planned works.
  • Good working knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV installations or both technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple site teams, subcontractors and operatives across domestic projects.
  • Background in domestic property works, ideally within social housing, local authority or housing association environments.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, including JCT and/or NEC.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements and construction site compliance.
  • Experience managing programmes, labour resources, quality standards and site performance.
  • Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience delivering domestic retrofit programmes or energy efficiency improvement works.
  • Knowledge of PAS 2030 and relevant retrofit standards.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid and Asbestos Awareness.
  • Experience working on occupied properties and coordinating installations around residents.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale social housing decarbonisation or renewable energy programmes.
  • Experience progressing towards Project Manager or Contracts Manager responsibilities.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of £52,000 per annum.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • Opportunity to work on renewable energy and decarbonisation projects.
  • Exposure to Air Source Heat Pump and Solar PV installation programmes.
  • Opportunities for career progression into Project Management.
  • Supportive, safety-focused working environment.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the delivery of energy-efficient homes and sustainable housing improvements.
