Full job description

Job Description:

The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of maintenance duties across all aspects of general property maintenance, plumbing, electrics, joinery etc.

Duties and Accountabilities

 Investigating reported building faults and completion of repairs;
 Undertaking repairs, renewals, and others tasks as instructed;
 Using trade skills to contribute to the continual improvement of the company's facilities and the experience of our tenants.
 Using the online reporting system to log and call off jobs;
 Assisting in planned maintenance tasks and testing, eg on water or electrical systems;
 Ensuring the unit is kept clean and tidy;
 Own transport essential.
 Demonstrating initiative whilst promoting a helpful and proactive attitude towards all maintenance tasks;
 Working with other trades in support of their work as required;

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have:

Essential:
 Multi-trade skills, knowledge, and experience to be able to carry out a wide range of maintenance duties, to include plumbing, roofing, plastering, brickwork, landscaping, and basic carpentry;
 Ability to work as part of a team;
 Ability to use initiative, and to be proactive and efficient with a ‘can-do’ attitude;
 Ability to multi-task and cope with a demanding workload, including ability to meet timetables and deadlines;
 A reliable and trustworthy approach at all times;
 Good spoken and written English skills, and a friendly and professional attitude towards colleagues, Fellows, students, contractors, and guests of the company;
 Computer literacy to enable use of the company's online reporting system, to respond to e-mails, and to set up basic spread sheets;
 An interest in keeping up-to-date with Industry Standards, advising the office as appropriate.

Desirable:
 A trade qualification in the areas of building or joinery will be advantageous;
 Experience of working in a campus or a property portfolio maintenance environment.

Pay: £25,420.00-£48,720.00 per year
