About The Role
Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our award-winning team Marula Lodge. Marula Lodge provides high quality services to up to 42 residents across 4 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.
What do you need?
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- Full UK drivers’ licence (essential)
- Experience working in the care or hospitality industry (desirable)
- Qualification in Health & Safety (desirable)
- Ability to work alone, as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and colleagues
- Must have a positive attitude to residents
What hours will you work?
- Monday to Friday 08.00-16.00 (40 hours per week)
Due to the nature of the role, you will be part of the on-call rota covering the South East Region. If called out, mileage will be paid from home to the service at £0.45p per mile and you will receive an on-call payment of £75. Whilst on site you will be paid at your hourly rate at time and a half.
What will you be doing?
- Installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building, fixtures and fittings
- General plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks
- Basic carpentry such as new locks, architrave, boxing in, assembling furniture
- Replacing handles and similar hardware easing and adjusting windows and maintaining restrictors
- General painting & decorating, including tiling
- Basic electrical maintenance such as changing light bulbs, fuses and sockets
- Carry out planned tasks in accordance with agreed timeframes/requirements
- Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
- Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work

About Us
Cornerstone Healthcare Group provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.
Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them unsuitable to live in dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.
We currently have 4 homes based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Mytchett & Wincanton and are in the process of building a new service in Bristol due to open in early 2025.
