Job Overview
We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our team. This role involves managing and processing insurance claims efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and previous clerical experience, contributing to the smooth operation of our claims department. The ideal candidate will also possess strong construction/subsidence knowledge and be able to create estimates relating to the claims. Also create and assist in reports for Subsidence related claims

The candidate will support the full lifecycle of claims from initial notification through investigation and repair to settlement. Working closely with policyholders, insurers, building surveyors, structural engineers, and contractors.

Duties

  • Review and verify incoming insurance claims for completeness and accuracy
  • Correspond with clients, or other relevant parties to gather necessary documentation
  • Assess insurance/subsidence claims in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines
  • Maintain organised records of all processed claims for audit purposes
  • Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely resolution
  • Collaborate with team members to improve claims processing procedures and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Accurately create estimate of repairs

Experience

  • Previous clerical experience is preferred, ideally within a claims or administrative environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Excel or similar programmes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with clients and customers
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of building construction, structural defects, or property repairs.
