Looking for your next opportunity? Whether you're starting out, changing direction, or building on manufacturing experience – this could be the role for you.

Due to exceptional growth, we’re hiring over 40 Foundry Operatives to join our team. With permanent positions and fixed-term contracts (3–6 months) available, this is a fantastic opportunity whether you're looking for short-term work, a long-term career, or your first step into manufacturing.

You’ll become part of a skilled, supportive and hardworking team, playing an important role in producing high precision components used in cutting-edge industries – all within a fast-paced and rewarding foundry environment.

Who are we?

At Grainger & Worrall, we specialise in producing complex cast and precision-machined solutions for pioneering technologies across diverse industries, including automotive, aerospace, defence, motorsport, and more, highlighting our versatility and commitment to driving future technology development and decarbonising mobility.

Driven by a team of talented and experienced engineers and specialists, we push boundaries and innovate to bring cutting-edge ideas to life.

We work with leading manufacturers of high-performance vehicles, helping them turn their ambitious designs and vision into reality. Through the expertise of our team and state-of-the-art facilities which combines cutting-edge engineering with advance manufacturing processes, we deliver high-performance components tailored to meet the demanding requirements of our clients’ innovative applications. We’re proud to shape the future of engineering.

About the role:

Ready to get hands-on in a role where your work truly matters? As a Foundry Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our production process, helping create high-quality castings that power some of the world’s most advanced technologies.

With multiple entry points and skill levels available, we’ll match you to the right team and provide full training where needed.

We are recruiting across various departments, including:

Core Blasting – Clean and prepare castings to meet quality standards.

  • Moulding – Prepare tooling and create moulds for casting production.
  • Assembly – Assemble cores and components accurately and efficiently.
  • Dressing – Finish castings to the required specifications.
  • Knockout – Remove castings safely from moulds post-production.
  • FLT Operator – Move materials and products safely around site
  • Robot Operator – Operate and monitor robotic equipment within the production process

Who we're looking for:

No prior experience is required, just an interest in manufacturing and a willingness to learn. If you do have existing Foundry experience, you could be offered a position at a more senior level.

It would also be great if you have:

  • A positive attitude: motivated, reliable, and eager to develop new skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a supportive, hands-on environment
  • Ability to travel to site

While not essential, it would be advantageous if you hold any of the following certifications or training: FLT (Forklift Truck), Overhead Crane, or First Aid. These can help you settle into the role more quickly and may reduce the level of training required.

What you’ll get:

We’ll provide you with a supportive and engaging environment where you can grow your skills and further your career. We’ll work with you to develop your personal professional development plan, tailored to your goals and ambitions.

In addition, you’ll get the following benefits:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to purchase more holiday days after your first year.
  • Westfield Health Insurance.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Company pension.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Additional shift bonus (where applicable).
  • Family Ironbridge Pass.

What to expect:

At Grainger & Worrall, we’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is valued and respected. We believe that diversity drives innovation and excellence.

Joining our team means being part of a culture that values positivity, adaptability, and teamwork. We strive to innovate and improve, ensuring everyone shares in our success.

We’re committed to supporting applicants with disabilities and we’re happy to make reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace to suit your needs. If you require any adjustments or additional support, please let us know.

Right To Work Requirements:

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

To be considered, applicants must already possess a long‑term and unrestricted right to work in the UK for the duration of employment.

We are unable to offer or support any form of visa application or future visa extension.
