Farm Shop Manager

Location: Gripps Farm, Brotton, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, TS12 2QU
Opening: Late July 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Join Us for an Exciting New Chapter at Gripps Farm

Gripps Farm is a family-run farm with a passion for hospitality, local produce, and creating memorable experiences for visitors. As part of our exciting expansion, we are opening a brand-new farm shop alongside our growing farm attraction, café, and visitor experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and hands-on Farm Shop Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operation of our new farm shop opening in late July 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a new retail destination from the ground up, champion local suppliers, and create a welcoming shopping experience that reflects the values of our farm and community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the farm shop, ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Source, develop, and maintain relationships with local producers and suppliers.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, merchandising, and product displays.
  • Recruit, train, and manage farm shop team members.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Work closely with the wider farm and café teams to create a seamless visitor experience.
  • Develop seasonal promotions, events, and product ranges that showcase the best of local produce.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous retail management experience, ideally within a farm shop, food retail, delicatessen, hospitality, or similar environment.
  • Is passionate about local food, farming, and supporting independent producers.
  • Has strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Is commercially minded and confident managing stock, sales, and budgets.
  • Has excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building something new.
  • Is flexible and willing to work weekends and busy seasonal periods.
