Full job description

Nationwide Supplies is an established, family-run Builders and Plumbers Merchant based in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. We are currently looking for an Internal Sales/Trade Counter Salesperson with good technical plumbing and heating knowledge and previous sales experience. As with most companies, the trade counter sales role is a core part of our business as we aim to offer superior customer service.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Previous trade counter experience (Preferably at a plumbers merchant)
  • Telesales experience
  • Product knowledge of either plumbing or heating products, ideally also some building product knowledge
  • Superb customer service acumen
  • Competent with IT
  • A team player and willingness to succeed

The main roles required from the internal sales/trade counter person are:

  • Handling and advising sales enquiries
  • Completing telesales and counter sales for dispatch
  • Excellent customer service
  • Giving of technical advice and support where necessary
  • Meeting targets and margins to help continue the growth of the company
  • Provide quick quotations and follow-ups to ensure the winning of business
  • Excellent telesales manner in order to increase sales from current customers and to acquire new business from new customers
  • Receive incoming telephone calls and handle enquiries
  • Every now and again you may be required to fulfil other duties not stated above as necessary to meet the needs of the company and maintain its excellent reputation

In order to be successful, the company ask for a previously experienced trade counter/salesperson. The candidate should also have previously been able to hit sales targets and show previous business-driving attitudes experience in the building/plumbing industry is not a requirement, but would offer a substantial advantage in the technical aspect of sales. Well driven and highly motivated traits are a must with good team work and core communication and IT skills apparent.

£32,000-£37,000pa basic salary plus £5,000pa in quarterly performance based bonuses.
