Site Installation Manager - Poultry Project
Site Installation Manager - Poultry Project
Job details
Full job description
Due to continued growth within the UK poultry sector, Jansen UK is looking to recruit a practical, hands-on Site Installation Manager to lead the installation of our specialist poultry systems across the UK.
This is a varied, Hybrid-based role suited to someone with a strong practical or technical background who enjoys leading installation teams, getting involved in on-site problem-solving and taking responsibility for delivering projects to a high standard.
You will oversee the installation of specialist poultry equipment, including ventilation systems, augers, feeders, drinkers and other associated systems within broiler poultry buildings. Working closely with our installation teams, subcontractors, suppliers and customers, you will ensure installations run safely, efficiently and to plan.
Alongside the hands-on site responsibilities, you will take ownership of projects from post-sale through to installation, commissioning and final handover. The role will develop to include planning, scheduling, coordinating resources, managing project costs and maintaining customer relationships.
We are looking for someone who understands practical installation work, can confidently lead a team on site and has the organisational skills to manage a project from start to finish. Previous poultry experience is not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
The Role
- Lead and supervise on-site installation teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Oversee the installation of ventilation systems, augers, feeders, drinkers and other specialist poultry equipment.
- Be actively involved in installation work, technical problem-solving, commissioning and resolving issues as they arise on site.
- Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors, equipment, materials and deliveries to keep projects running smoothly.
- Plan and organise site activities, labour requirements and installation schedules.
- Monitor progress against project timescales, identifying potential issues and taking action to keep installations on track.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and site stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout each project.
- Work closely with internal teams on project preparation, equipment requirements and pre-installation planning.
- Ensure completed installations meet the required specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Lead commissioning, project handover and, where required, assist with post-installation service work.
- Take increasing responsibility for the overall management of projects, including scheduling, coordination, costs and delivery from post-sale through to completion.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Practical experience in mechanical installation, equipment fitting, construction, agricultural machinery, ventilation systems or a similar hands-on technical environment.
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating installation teams, site operatives or contractors.
- A practical, problem-solving approach and the confidence to manage activities and resolve issues on site.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan work, coordinate people and materials, and keep installations on schedule.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work professionally with customers, colleagues and subcontractors.
- A self-motivated and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
Desirable:
- Experience in agricultural equipment, poultry housing, ventilation, feeding or drinking systems.
- Mechanical or electrical knowledge.
- Experience working on construction, agricultural building or industrial installation projects.
- Previous responsibility for project planning, scheduling, budgets or customer handovers.
We are particularly interested in candidates with practical installation or site supervisory experience who are ready to take the next step into a broader project delivery role. You do not need previous poultry experience, but you must be comfortable leading installation teams and understanding the practical work being carried out.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience.
- Company vehicle.
- Business expenses paid.
- A varied role combining hands-on site leadership with project management responsibilities.
- Training and development within a specialist and growing sector.
- The opportunity to work on large-scale poultry projects across the UK.
- Monday to Friday working pattern, with UK travel and occasional overnight stays required.
- A mix of site, home and office-based working, depending on project requirements.
- Pension.
- 30 days' holiday, including bank holidays.
- Discretionary annual bonus.
Location: Primarily based in Lincolnshire, with regular travel to project sites throughout the UK.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
