What you'll be doing

As a member of the Assets Team this role contributes to the successful delivery of the Asset Management Strategy. As a Asset Surveyor you will be required to support the Technical Surveyor Manager in delivering programme of works for various workstreams contribute to the continued success of our asset management strategy. You will be required to work collaboratively with customers, contractors and consultants to ensure the programmes are delivered on time, within budgets, to a good quality standard and in line with current regulations. You will be based at Calico Head Office, Centenary Court, Croft Street, Burnley, Lancashire, BB11 2ED.

Your hours of work would be 36.25 hours per week - Monday – Friday.

The salary for this role is £34,964 per annum

What you’ll need to be a success

Essential:

  • The CSTDB (Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings) or Certificated Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings (CSDB)ONC or NVQ in a construction related field Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable:

  • BOHS P402: Building surveys and bulk sampling for asbestos CSRT
  • HNC/HND or degree level in Building Studies

Experience

Essential:

-Experience of building surveying, construction & defects analysis -Experience of working in a customer focussed environment -Experience of working in a social housing environment

  • Experience in preparation of schedule of works, specifications & of working with contractors on multiple work steams ensuring cost and quality outcomes.

-Experience of undertaking asbestos survey re inspections -Experience of energy efficiency works and renewable technologies

Desirable:

  • Experience of completing energy performance certificates

Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Building Construction, Maintenance and Materials
  • Building Regulations, Planning Policy and Regulations Asbestos Regulations and Legislation
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in writing, on the phone, face to face or by e-mail Customer Focus and Orientation
  • IT Application – Ability to use a range of packages including word, excel, project Problem Solving, Taking Responsibility & Decision Making
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team Ability to produce technical reports
  • Ability to direct/supervise contractors

Other

Essential

  • Full driving licence and access to a car
