Multi-Trade Maintenance Engineer

Elevate FM is a growing, nationwide facilities management company providing reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance and specialist services to commercial clients across the UK.

We’re continuing to grow our directly employed engineering team and are looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Multi-Trade Maintenance Engineer to join us.

The Role

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on engineer who is confident carrying out a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks across commercial properties.

You’ll be attending customer sites, diagnosing faults, completing repairs and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

No two days will be the same, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and can confidently solve problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across commercial properties.
  • Undertake general plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps, toilets, pipework and associated maintenance.
  • Complete basic carpentry, joinery and door repairs, including locks, hinges and ironmongery.
  • Carry out general building fabric repairs, patch plastering, decorating and minor maintenance works.
  • Diagnose faults and identify practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Complete jobs to a high standard, aiming to get things right first time.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and the internal service team.
  • Complete job reports, photographs and associated paperwork using our mobile job management system.
  • Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain tools, equipment and your vehicle.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a multi-trade, building maintenance or facilities management role.
  • Good practical skills across several maintenance trades.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your daily workload.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A reliable, professional attitude and pride in your workmanship.

Desirable:

  • Strong plumbing experience.
  • Experience working in commercial properties.
  • Basic carpentry and building fabric maintenance skills.
  • Experience using mobile job management systems.
  • Relevant trade qualifications.

We don’t expect you to be an expert in every trade, but we do expect you to understand your capabilities, work safely and deliver quality workmanship.
