JOB PURPOSE:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating and securing revenue by creating opportunities within existing accounts, developing growth within target accounts, finding & securing new business opportunities and revenue within an assigned geographical area. The BDM is also responsible for implementing and executing strategies to achieve sales targets with the support of the branch and Group Managing Director. This role will also play an integral part of the overall sales cycle for the branch, including the utilisation, management and support of the Office based sales team (Business Development Coordinator) and General Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Developing and sustaining long-term relationships with key customers.

· Travelling to potential and existing customers within an assigned sales area to present company offerings and build brand awareness.

· Utilising outbound telephone calls, email communications and face-to-face meetings with customers to close sales.

· Management and qualification of new leads generated through marketing portals

· To understand the market dynamics and drivers, report changing market conditions and identify potential opportunities and risks to the management team.

· To work with and increase area revenue through key account management and business development to maximise profitability for the company.

· Agree and implement Group sales strategies to enhance branch and group performance.

· Preparing concise sales reports to feed into Group Managing Director.

· Planning, researching, and executing potential sales opportunities to drive profitable market share growth for the business.

· Consistently delivers against set goals and targets.

Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Sales Director.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Proven sales experience within engineering industry.

· Previous account management experience.

· Knowledge of industry and markets

· Strong track record in relationship building.

· Proactive approach to drive sales forward.

· Organised and planned approach to creating sales opportunities

· Ability to be self-motivated and be able to work independently.

· Exceptional customer service skills

· Ability to take ownership and accountability

· Excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Great problem solver and be able to work under pressure, providing solutions.
