The Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Working Site Foreman – Finishing Works to join our established team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the day-to-day finishing stages of our construction projects, coordinating trades, maintaining programme and ensuring works are completed to a consistently high standard.

This is a working foreman position, not purely a supervisory role. We are looking for someone with a strong practical trade background - preferably Carpentry & Joinery, who is comfortable working alongside the team when required, while taking ownership of site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate internal fit-out, second-fix and finishing works through to practical completion.
• Supervise and coordinate carpenters, joiners, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, tilers, decorators and other specialist subcontractors.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, construction details, specifications and finishes schedules.
• Plan and sequence works to maintain progress against the construction programme.
• Organise labour, materials, deliveries and subcontractor attendance.
• Monitor workmanship, quality and compliance with the project specifications.
• Identify design discrepancies, additional works and variations, reporting these promptly to the office.
• Maintain regular communication with the contracts manager, providing clear progress updates and highlighting any issues requiring attention.
• Carry out practical building and finishing works alongside the team where required.
• Manage snagging, final inspections and preparation for project handover.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and professionally organised construction site.

Experience & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Working Foreman, Finishing Foreman, Site Foreman or experienced Lead Tradesperson.
• Strong practical background in carpentry, joinery, general building or high-quality residential finishing works.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades during the second-fix and finishing stages of construction.
• Ability to confidently read architectural drawings, construction details and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a thorough understanding of quality workmanship.
• Good organisational skills, forward planning and the ability to anticipate problems.
• Confident communicating with subcontractors, architects, clients and the office team.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility and make practical decisions.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.

SSSTS or SMSTS certification would be advantageous.
