Starting Salary: £28k-34k DOE plus company bonus scheme after 3 month probation
Benefits: 28 days paid holiday, Workplace Pension and Private Medical Insurance opt-in after probation period
The Opportunity
Fire Door Controls is a growing specialist business supplying and installing alarm-activated fire door control solutions throughout the UK, primarily within the Residential Care, Social Housing and Retirement Living sectors.
We are looking for an experienced telephone-based salesperson to join our team in Ferndown and help us develop both new and existing customer relationships.
This is first and foremost a sales role.
You will be responsible for responding to inbound enquiries, proactively developing new business, following up sales opportunities and quotations, and identifying opportunities to provide additional products and installation services to existing customers.
We don’t believe in aggressive selling. Our approach is consultative: understanding what the customer is trying to achieve, providing professional and independent advice, and helping them choose the most appropriate solution.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your primary responsibility will be to generate, develop and convert sales opportunities.
This will include:
· Responding to inbound sales enquiries and orders.
· Proactively contacting prospective B2B customers.
· Following up enquiries, quotations and outstanding opportunities.
· Developing relationships with existing customers.
· Identifying opportunities for additional products and installation services.
· Building relationships with relevant customer decision-makers.
· Preparing quotations and progressing them through to sale.
· Maintaining accurate customer and sales information within our CRM and internal systems.
· Placing orders with suppliers.
· Liaising with installers, subcontractors and suppliers where required.
· Completing the administration associated with managing your customers and orders.
There is some general administration associated with the position, but sales and account development are the primary focus of the role.
The Person We’re Looking For
Recent relevant telephone-based sales experience is essential.
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
· Have recent experience in a telephone-based sales role.
· Are confident making proactive outbound B2B sales calls.
· Have experience converting enquiries, leads or quotations into orders.
· Enjoy developing long-term customer relationships.
· Are comfortable speaking with business customers and decision-makers.
· Have a confident, professional and composed telephone manner.
· Are organised and persistent with sales follow-up.
· Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Are self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
· Have a positive, practical and proactive approach.
· Are comfortable using CRM systems.
· Are proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience within construction, building products, facilities management, fire safety, residential care, social housing or a related B2B sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Product knowledge is not required. Full training will be provided, including initial customer site visits to develop an understanding of our products, installations and customer requirements.
What We Offer
· Starting salary of £28,000–£34,000, depending on experience.
· Company bonus scheme following successful completion of the three-month probationary period.
· 28 days’ paid holiday.
· Workplace pension.
· Option to join the company’s private medical insurance scheme after probation.
· Monday–Friday working hours.
· No weekend working.
· Full product and industry training.
· Opportunity to join a small, established business at an important stage of its growth.
· The opportunity to make a visible contribution to the development of the company.
This isn’t a role where you’ll disappear into a large sales department. You’ll work closely with the management team and have the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to the company’s continued growth.
