Site Maintenance Assistant/Handyperson – DNV Bishop Auckland, Chilton Industrial Estate, DL17 0SE

To perform site maintenance tasks as required.

DNV Bishop Auckland is one of the largest high pressure natural gas flow facilities in the world providing services to the oil, gas, offshore and pipeline industries with a worldwide reputation for technical expertise, quality and flexibility of service and an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the flow measurement and control industry.

Key Accountabilities:

· Perform general maintenance activities as instructed.

o Tasks could include internal painting of buildings, painting of equipment outside, basic plumbing, gardening, labouring for other site staff, general cleaning, mechanical assembly of items after guidance, routine site checks and general site activities as required.

· Operate safe working practices as instructed.

· Good overall communication skills and work well as part of a team.

· Able to follow instructions, identify straightforward risks and use sound practical judgement, seeking guidance when needed.

· The role involves practical maintenance work, primarily outdoors and in all weathers, which may include standing, walking, bending and handling tools or materials. Some tasks may involve lifting or carrying.

· Training and task-specific instruction will be provided. Suitable tools, PPE and health-and-safety training will be provided where applicable.

· Practical experience of carrying out basic maintenance or DIY tasks safely is essential.
Able to understand task instructions, communicate safety concerns and work cooperatively with colleagues.

22.5 hours per week, worked between 08:00 and 16:00, Monday to Friday. The working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate, subject to operational requirements.

Hourly rate £16.50/hour
