Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in various environments. The successful applicant will contribute to a range of projects including roofing, masonry, and commercial building works, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.

Duties

  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to complete projects accurately
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures or fixtures as needed
  • Use heavy lifting techniques safely to move materials around the site
  • Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of materials or equipment when necessary
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to client specifications

Experience

  • Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, masonry or related trades is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is essential
  • Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction environments will be an advantage
  • Experience with heavy lifting and safe manual handling practices is required
  • Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
  • Knowledge of safety regulations within construction sites is essential for this role
