Full job description

JOIN TEAM WOTTON

At Wotton House, we do things a little differently.

Set in the beautiful Surrey countryside and surrounded by history, gardens and plenty of character, Wotton House is a hotel where no two days are quite the same. From weddings and celebrations to corporate events and countryside escapes, there is always something happening – and our Maintenance team plays a huge part in keeping everything running smoothly.

We’re welcoming, creative and proudly a little quirky. Our approach is simple: “Yes – what’s the question?” We look for solutions, support one another and aren’t afraid to think differently.

We’re also proud of our Green Key accreditation, our relationships with the local community and our commitment to making more responsible choices.

In short? It’s Wonderfully Wotton.

THE ROLE – MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Team Member to join our team and help keep Wotton House looking and working at its best.

This is a varied role where no two days will be the same. One moment you could be helping resolve an issue in a guest bedroom, and the next carrying out routine checks, supporting an event set-up or helping maintain our historic building and grounds.

You’ll work closely with teams across the hotel, responding to maintenance needs and making sure our guests and colleagues have a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

You’ll be:

  • Carrying out day-to-day repairs and general maintenance across the hotel

  • Responding to maintenance issues and helping resolve them quickly and efficiently

  • Completing routine checks and identifying potential maintenance or safety concerns

  • Helping maintain our guest bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces and facilities

  • Working closely with other departments to keep hotel operations running smoothly

  • Supporting preventative maintenance and keeping accurate records where required

  • Following health & safety procedures and safe working practices

  • Developing your skills and knowledge, with training and support from the team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and getting stuck in.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A practical, hands-on approach to work

  • Good general maintenance or DIY skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Confidence working independently as well as part of a team

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • A positive, can-do attitude

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills

  • Flexibility to occasionally work weekends on a rotational basis

Previous maintenance experience would be an advantage, particularly within a hotel, hospitality or facilities environment, but just as important to us is finding someone with the right attitude, practical mindset and willingness to learn.

WHY JOIN US?

You’ll have access to a fantastic benefits package designed to support you both inside and outside of work, including:

  • Discounted hotel stays for you, your friends and family

  • An extra day off for your birthday

  • Free meals on duty – saving you over £1,000 per year

  • 30% food & beverage discount at RBH hotels

  • Wagestream – giving you more flexibility over how and when you access your pay

  • Enhanced maternity, adoption and shared parental leave

  • Course sponsorship and development opportunities

  • Refer a Friend scheme – earn £250 per successful referral, up to five referrals

  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Life insurance

  • Social and wellbeing events throughout the year

And much, much more!

WONDERFULLY WOTTON

We want people who bring personality, ideas and enthusiasm to what they do. People who care about our guests, care about their colleagues and take pride in being part of something a little different.

Wonderfully welcoming. Wonderfully whimsical. Wonderfully Wotton.

Think this sounds like you? We’d love to hear from you.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

RBH Hospitality Management is an equal opportunity employer. We believe in hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive, people-first culture. If at any point throughout our recruitment process you require reasonable adjustments, please contact careers@rbhmanagement.com.
