We are offering a permanent position with a competitive salary of up to £37,237 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored plans, and regularly review and provide assistance to children, families, or carers with complex social or familial needs, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
  • Evaluate family dynamics and offer necessary support to prevent harm to children at risk of abuse or neglect due to relationship breakdowns.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to empower children, young people, and families in enhancing their lives and overcoming challenges related to safety or community engagement.
  • Undertake assessments and devise safeguarding strategies to protect children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, while fostering constructive relationships with all involved parties, including intervening when necessary to remove a child from their caregivers.
  • Facilitate appropriate alternative care arrangements in consultation with children, young people, and their families when parental care is not viable.
  • Take responsibility for determining whether a case warrants statutory intervention.
  • Support individuals with complex social needs, such as those with disabilities, by promoting their autonomy and development, and addressing barriers to inclusion and capacity building.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and actively participate in various planning and decision-making forums.
  • Serve as a Practice Educator for social work students or as an Assessor for Newly Qualified Social Workers, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with communities, families, and individuals to leverage their strengths, social networks, and resources.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Relevant experience within Children's Services.
