Pearsons of Duns is a leading multi-product retail and trade outlet specialising in solid fuel, building materials, and garden products. As the largest coal merchants in the Borders and Northumberland, we pride ourselves on serving over 6,000 customers with high-quality products and exceptional service.

Summary

We are seeking a Front of House Assistant to join our team at Pearsons of Duns. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing them with outstanding service and support. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries.
  • Take food and drink orders and serve to the table.
  • Provide product information and recommendations to enhance customer experience.
  • Ensure the front of house area is clean, organised, and welcoming at all times.
  • Take payments and deal effectively with telephone enquiries.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the restaurant.
  • Flexibility is required to allow for kitchen cover as and when reqired and also for additional shifts for absences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor with a passion for helping others.
