J & J Franks Ltd is a privately owned, fully integrated quarrying and waste management company dedicated to supplying high-quality building sand, recycled aggregates, and comprehensive waste logistics solutions to the construction industry. Summary

J&J Franks is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to oversee the day-to-day planning of our tippers, grab lorries, artic fleet, and material movements across the business.

This is a hands-on operational role within a busy waste, aggregates, and haulage environment.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, commercially aware, and able to work calmly under pressure in a fast-moving operation.

Key Responsibilities

· Planning and coordinating tipper, grab lorry, and artic movements

· Managing internal and external material movements

· Maximising vehicle utilisation and reducing unnecessary movements

· Liaising with drivers, sites, customers, and management

· Managing day-to-day transport issues and reacting quickly to changes

· Ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and on time

· Monitoring driver performance, vehicle allocation, and routing

· Maintaining compliance with transport regulations and company procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

· Previous transport planning experience within haulage, waste, aggregates, construction, or similar industries

· Strong organisational and communication skills

· The ability to think ahead and prioritise workloads effectively

· A practical approach to problem solving

· Confidence working in a fast-paced operational environment

· Knowledge of vehicle routing and transport compliance

Hours

· Monday to Friday

· Occasional Saturdays

· 8:00am – 5:30pm

· On a rota basis, starting at 6:45am to assist with opening up and organising the start of the day
