Full job description
This is for a Designate Store Manager position. The role will include stores in Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding area within an hours drive.
Our Designate managers are a vital support to our management team. As a Designate Store Manager, you will be supporting retail stores across the Halfords group within a reasonable travel time across the county and leading the instore teams with support, encouragement, and motivation.
You will be able to transfer your current leadership experience to the role and receive the best training ready for when you take on a permanent Store as the appointed Store Manager. You will have an amazing support network that you will have built up whilst training and be ready to deliver the leadership to our instore team and amazing service to our customers.

No two days are the same in our retail stores and as a Store Manager you will be open to change, adapting, and ensure that the team are on board and motivated to constantly move forwards with the everchanging environment that adapts to meet our customers’ needs and demands.

As a Designate Store Manager at Halfords, you will spend the majority of your time on the sales floor with your finger on the pulse of everyday store life. Thriving on teamwork you will inspire others to want to continuously improve and perform better.
You will need:
- Store manager experience ideally in a retail-based environment.
- Experience of working in a service focussed business.
- Experience of a management role in a retail environment.
- Experience of delivering sales and services targets and managing and influencing KPI’s.
- Experience of recruiting, developing and leading others
- Experience in Microsoft packages.
- Experience of managing a team deployment plan, ensuring you have the right people in the right place.
- A focus on compliance across Health and Safety, GDPR, QC and all Retail legislation.
