Job summary

Emil Dale Academy is a full-time professional Musical Theatre Academy based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. We are fast becoming the UK's number one choice for training specialising in Musical Theatre offering a BA Hons Degree Course, 2 Year Sixth Form & 1 Year Foundation courses.

This job is ideal for someone who has worked in administration and/ or hospitality - taking initiative and thinking on your feet. Will we particularly be looking for people with a background in musical theatre, education or events, although for the right candidate this is not a mandatory requirement.

This is a physical job role, for someone who has the initiative to juggle priorities and be adaptable to changing circumstances, but also able to work on reception/ front line facing students, staff and general public.

As the Team Administrator , you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the college. The role requires strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the college’s administrative functions within the student services team.

Hours

- During term time, shifts will be between 7.00am - 3pm, or 9.45am - 5.45pm, and one evening shift is required per week (either on a Tuesday or Thursday) which is 12.45pm - 8.45pm and this is scheduled on a monthly basis. There will be some weekend working required, scheduled in advance.

- During show seasons (March and June), hours can vary but you will be expected to work some evenings.

- Outside of term time, hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm, 8.30am – 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm.

Responsibilities

- To provide a courteous, professional, helpful, efficient and prompt service to the students and staff at the Academy.

- To answer and redirect telephone calls promptly and efficiently, and to follow up on voicemails.

- To respond to emails efficiently and help maintain acceptable levels of emails in the inboxes.

- To help open and/ or close the buildings at the start and end of the day (depending on which shift you work).

- To assist with daily absence checking and student support.

- To take payments and maintain appropriate records both for in-house purchases and over the phone.

- To assist with keeping the reception area and office clean and tidy, and help report on any maintenance issues within the academy grounds.

- To assist with registration and administration for events such as open days and auditions (including some weekend working).

- To assist with productions including working evenings and weekends during production runs (note* we only run productions for a maximum of 21 days per year).

Personal Specification

Qualifications/ Specialist Knowledge

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages preferred but not essential.

- Educated to A Level standard as a minimum (including minimum Grade C in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE) or equivalent vocational qualifications.

Experience

- Experience of working in a customer-focused role.

- Event management/ host/ front of house/ hospitality experience.

Skills

- Fluent written and spoken English skills.

- Excellent spelling and grammar are essential.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptable to changes.
