Are you a people person? Do you love getting to know clients and get a buzz out of going that extra mile? This is a Dispensing Assistant role in a small busy practice. Your role is building ongoing relationships with clients and making their visit enjoyable by delivering a professional, personal service and helping them to find spectacles they look and feel amazing in .
This role is perfect for you if:
- are passionate about eyewear and style
- like to make personal connections with clients whether on the phone, in reception or during the consultation
- enjoy working with people, helping to resolve any issues or concerns, take the time to listen engage, asking the correct questions to ensure client’s leave with the perfect pair of specs to resolve their current challenges.
- are a team player- getting involved in the daily setting up and closing down of the practice, engaging with clients, making them a cuppa, paying attention to every detail especially when checking spectacle orders as they arrive back from the manufacturers.
- are competent and happy to respond to any enquiries (in person/by phone or email) with comprehensive responses and helping clients to book in for the correct appointment they need. are prepared to put in the hard work to do whatever it takes to deliver top quality service.
- are not soley interested in ‘only getting your wages’ but in developing skills and your career to make a positive contribution to the business and the community it serves.
The Work:
This is a part time position over 3 days one of which would be Saturday, total of 21.25 hours per week with overtime sometimes available (sickness/holiday cover or peak trading times). This will increase to an extra day (total 28.75 hours) once you are trained up, hopefully in 6-9 months. We are closed Bank Holidays and Sundays.
Long Stratton Eyecare is a independent optometry practice serving the local community in South Norfolk, we are a small team with 3 members of staff in each day and some remote administration support. We depend heavily on each other and take our responsibilities to each other and our work seriously. We are striving to continually improving the service we deliver and the eyewear we stock- life is too short for boring glasses! We are looking to grow as a business; if you’re seeking an environment to bring the best out in you and want to be part of building something we can all be proud of then you could be just the person we need!
The role includes welcoming new clients, getting to know them and having great initial conversations to determine what each patient wants from their appointment and helping to ensure we deliver. We need you to get to know clients on a personal level, making their visit an individual one, having great initial conversations and being the perfect host by making them a drink during their visit. We need an extra team member to help keep the day running smoothly and to effortlessly manage several clients being in the practice at once ensuring the quality of our service isn’t compromised!
Personality:
We are seeking a driven, determined and passionate individual with a sense of humour and a co-operative attitude, an avid learner, punctual, ethical and honest. We are looking for someone that can become a problem solver within our business and not just a problem reporter!.
Responsibilities will be diverse, some creative and fun, others more mundane but all are important and necessary to keep the business operating successfully.
We will support you and there will always be help when you need it, we don’t expect you to know how to do all that is required but we ask that you are observant, resourceful and keen to learn. If you like variety in you work, thrive when challenged and take pride in your achievements then this job will provide it!
The ideal candidate must:
- Be an excellent communicator
- Have basic qualifications in English and Maths
- Optical Experience is preferred but not essential.
- Pay attention to detail and be able to work in a fast paced deadline driven work environment.
- Be open to learning and upskilling. As a company we have regular team training as we constantly strive to reflect and improve
