The Clifford Estate is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join our friendly Estate Maintenance Team. This is a varied hands-on role maintaining residential properties, commercial premises, agricultural buildings and the historic Ugbrooke House Estate. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys using a wide range of practical skills and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Job Description

Position: Maintenance Team member

Reporting to: Head of Maintenance

Location: Ugbrooke House, Chudleigh, Devon

Responsible for: NA

Contract: Permanent (40 hours per week).

Main purpose of the role: To work as part of a small team to ensure that the planned and preventative maintenance across the Estate, to include Ugbrooke House, Park, agricultural, residential portfolio and services is implemented.

Key Skills:

Interpersonal: Required to build effective working relationships as part of your own team and with other teams on the Estate as well as with guests and external suppliers so you represent the brand and ethos of the Estate

Communication: Good listening, questioning and presentation of information

Adaptable and flexible: Responsive to the changing requirements of the Estate Manager/Head of Maintenance in relation to the delivery of maintenance schedules

Motivation: A self- starter, proactive and with a high degree of pride in the work

Planned and organised: Ability to organise self

Results driven: Required to deliver to time schedules

Team- work: Recognising that you are part of a wider team and contributing to the overall success of the Estate

Quality: Deliver to quality standards

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all corrective and preventive maintenance of Estate property, services, systems, fixtures and fittings as stipulated by the Head of Maintenance
  • Ensure all work complies to required Health and Safety standards
  • Communicate any property maintenance issues to the Head of Maintenance
  • Work alongside external contractors as required
  • Liaise with the Estate Manager and other teams to ensure all work being undertaken which affects other departments is communicated
  • Provide a high level of service to tenants when carrying out planned maintenance to residential property.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks as required

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experienced in general building and property maintenance
  • Ability to work to a schedule
  • Experience and knowledge of working with tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements
  • Knowledge & interest in caring for historic buildings
  • First Aid certificate
  • Driving Licence.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: £26,650.00 per year
