Trainee Inspector

Kovia is a dynamic and growing environmental consultancy, based in Plymouth. We are looking for outstanding talent to join our team during this exciting period of expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to progress within the company. Kovia was founded in 2013 and has grown to become a highly successful regional consultancy, with offices in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We are now beginning to offer our services nationwide and are looking to recruit ambitious, hardworking and commercially aware staff to support this.

The role of Trainee Inspector will be to work towards attaining a number of professional and industry-recognised inspection qualifications, by gaining practical site experience under the supervision of experienced inspectors from multiple compliance disciplines. Once qualified, you will be required to perform these duties both individually and occasionally as part of a team. The role is predominantly site-based but offers the opportunity for outstanding individuals to progress into other areas of the business over time.

Kovia delivers a number of inspection and compliance services and is looking for applicants who are maybe seeking their first role in the field of professional surveying and inspection. You will operate under Kovia's UKAS accreditation and ISO management systems with a fantastic opportunity to become a multi-skilled professional inspector, who can complete:

  • Energy Performance Certification
  • Retrofit Assessments
  • Stock Condition Surveys
  • Asbestos Surveys
  • Fire Risk Assessments
  • Legionella Risk Assessment

The role is permanent and full-time, with the successful candidate(s) being subject to a probationary period of 6-months. The completion of this period and a further on-going period of excellent performance and review will lead to the role of an authorised Inspector and potential future career progression into a senior position or management.

The role of Trainee Inspector requires a specific set of skills and attributes and if this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Candidates must:

  • Be qualified to A-level or equivalent with excellent written and spoken English
  • Ideally experienced in a construction or property-related discipline e.g. Construction, Building Surveying, Architecture, Trades - but this is not essential
  • Be comfortable working within both domestic and professional commercial environments
  • Be positive, ambitious, hardworking and willing to learn
  • Have a full, clean UK driving licence
