Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker/Groundsman to maintain and oversee the upkeep of our outdoor and indoor facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and general building upkeep. This role involves ensuring the grounds are well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing, supporting the overall functionality and appearance of the property. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to contribute to a well-managed environment.

Duties

  • Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and construction equipment such as excavators for groundskeeping and minor construction tasks
  • Conduct routine maintenance of grounds and facilities, including cleaning pathways, repairing fences, and maintaining outdoor furniture
  • Assist with gardening activities such as planting new flora or replacing damaged plants
  • Carry out basic mechanical repairs on equipment and machinery as needed
  • Support construction projects or renovations within the premises by assisting skilled tradespeople
  • Monitor safety hazards around the property and address issues promptly to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and report any significant repairs or safety concerns

Skills

  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture
  • Mechanical knowledge related to machinery, power tools, and construction equipment such as excavators
