Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join us for extensive roof replacement work. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and installing roofs on both residential and commercial buildings, working around Telford and Shrewsbury. Your expertise will help ensure that roofs are durable, weather-resistant, and built to the highest standards of safety and quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your craftsmanship, and contribute to the safety and integrity of buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine roofing specifications and installation procedures
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to cut, shape, and install roofing materials
  • Prepare surfaces by removing old roofing materials, repairing damaged structures, and ensuring proper insulation and waterproofing
  • Install various roofing systems including shingles, metal panels, membrane roofs, and other materials according to project plans
  • Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols
  • Conduct inspections during and after installation to ensure quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or other trades as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven construction experience with a focus on roofing projects
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
  • Skilled in welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry or plumbing as they relate to roofing applications
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for cutting, fastening, and sealing materials
  • Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of roofing techniques including waterproofing and insulation methods
  • Strong safety awareness with adherence to OSHA standards or local safety regulations
  • Must have own van and insurance
