Job Summary
The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of material and quantity take-offs and estimates from architectural drawings, as well as preparing product breakdowns for costing and all costs associated with tendered estimates.

This person is a forward-thinking individual with experience working within the construction industry specifically related to building envelope estimating for façade panels and cladding scopes.

Duties

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates and addendums for projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs associated with projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates on cost performance and variances.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the estimation process.
  • Maintain an organised database of past estimates for future reference and benchmarking purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all estimations.
  • Produce quotations covering all aspects of cladding and metal roofing.
  • Produce accurate quantity take offs to determine accurate project costs.
  • Attend scope meetings with customers.
  • Ensure that best practices, high quality quotation documents, and competitive pricing is provided consistently and in a professional manner.
  • Communicate with Suppliers and Subcontractors for technical support and pricing.
  • Attend site meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cladding estimator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cladding materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using software programs such as Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Very strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A relevant degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

This role is crucial for ensuring that cladding projects are accurately estimated and efficiently managed. This is an office-based role. Free Parking, pension scheme, 5 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays. Proven experience as a Cladding Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
