Full job description

Join Our Team

Timber Windows is a leading provider of beautifully crafted timber windows and doors, with a nationwide network of over 60 beautifully appointed showrooms. We offer homeowners a complete supply-and-installation service, combining traditional craftsmanship with sustainable practices and exceptional customer care.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a talented and experienced Service & Repair Engineer to join our team and help us deliver the outstanding quality and service our premium brand is known for.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, hands-on professional with experience in the window and door industry, who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and enjoys solving problems for customers.

About the Role

As a field-based Service & Repair Engineer, you will visit customer properties and building sites across Essex to carry out service, repair and remedial works on timber windows and doors.

You will play a key role in diagnosing and resolving installation and manufacturing issues, completing cosmetic repairs and ensuring that every job is finished to the highest possible standard.

We are ideally looking for a qualified Carpenter or Joiner, or someone with a strong background in joinery, window and door manufacturing or installation. Experience in painting and decorating is also essential, with onsite paint spraying skills being a distinct advantage but not essential.

You will be a professional ambassador for Timber Windows, delivering a first-class customer experience at every visit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, adjustments and remedial works on timber windows and doors.
  • Diagnose and identify installation, manufacturing and product-related faults.
  • Undertake quality control inspections and ensure products meet our exacting standards.
  • Fit, adjust and repair ironmongery and glazing.
  • Complete first-response cosmetic repairs to a high standard.
  • Carry out onsite painting and decorating.
  • Produce clear, accurate and comprehensive site reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects our premium brand.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Participate in relevant team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about their trade, takes pride in their work and enjoys delivering the right solution for every customer.

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience in a service or repair role within the window and door industry.
  • A qualification in carpentry or joinery, or relevant practical experience in the trade.
  • Strong knowledge of timber windows, doors and associated products.
  • Competent painting and decorating skills, with paint spraying experience being a real advantage.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • A methodical, accurate and quality-focused approach to work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT literacy and the ability to complete detailed site reports.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A positive, proactive “can-do” attitude.
  • A professional, honest and customer-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to undertake regular overnight stays as part of the role.

What We Offer

In return for your skills, experience and commitment, we offer a rewarding opportunity to become part of a growing, quality-driven business, along with:

  • Competitive remuneration package, including an annual company bonus.
  • Company-provided van to support you in your field-based role.
  • Access to our online rewards platform, offering discounts at a wide range of retailers.
  • Employee Referral Scheme.
  • Private medical cover through Benenden Health.
  • One paid volunteer day each year.
  • Company life assurance scheme.
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.

Why Join Timber Windows?

At Timber Windows, we take pride in our craftsmanship, our people and the service we provide to our customers. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a premium product, showcase your skills and make a real difference to the customer experience.

If you're an experienced service and repair professional who is passionate about quality, enjoys working independently and wants to be part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
