Job Overview
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven, and strategic sales leader to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving growth across our on-trade channels. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in the food and drink industry, who thrives on building high-value relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering measurable results. The successful candidate will lead account strategy, manage commercial performance, and inspire a field sales team to achieve and exceed targets, while contributing to the wider business vision through collaboration, innovation, and market insight. The key deliveries for this role are:

  • Understand and meet core company goals/objectives.
  • Execute the on-trade sales strategy, built to nurture & grow both existing and new routes to market.
  • Build & maintain strong, strategic relationships with major on-trade accounts, driving long-term sustainable growth.
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, promotions & annual joint business plans.
  • Full P&L responsibility for assigned accounts, in line with the company’s expected levels.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities within national and regional account groups.
  • Manage and develop the on-trade field sales team, ensuring they have all the tools required to achieve set sales targets.
  • Achieve or exceed personal sales in line with pre-set company requirements.
  • Track and manage allocated account marketing spend to ensure it is utilised appropriately and within the agreed budget.
  • Work closely with the marketing/product development team to provide feedback and support new product launches, ensuring all team members are on board with a clear launch strategy.
  • Maintain clear ownership of account performance, using data, insights & market feedback to drive decision making and action plans.
  • Provide regular reperformance reporting, forecasting and market insight to inform wider business strategy.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure best-in-class execution across sales, marketing, supply chain & activation
  • Flexibility in duties may be needed to ensure best business practice.
  • Any other activity/task as and when requested by the Directors.

Work Experience

  • Food & Drink Industry and Tourism
  • On-trade experience preferred

Skills

  • IT skills: Opera, Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in identifying specific potential markets, geographical or otherwise, through to effectively creating new accounts
  • Merchandising/marketing background
  • Excellent literacy and numeric skills

Qualifications

  • Corporate Membership of Chartered Institute of Marketing and/or Institute of Sales and Marketing Management or minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant subject

Personal Qualities

  • Proven ability to create wholesale and retail, on and off-site activities, which are in line with the company ethos, which is quantifiable and financially measurable
  • Willingness to travel – this role will take you across the country
  • People management skills – experience and natural ability

Pay: Up to £60,000.00 per year
