Full job description

About Us

UK Rigging is a rapidly growing company in the live events and entertainment industry. Our Venue Rigging department works with 14 arenas across the UK, analysing production plans against arena roof structures to ensure safety and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading industry name with a real chance at future permanent roles as we expand.

The Opportunity & Travel

We are looking for an organised, confident, and proactive Coordinator to look after day-to-day department workflows and support our hybrid team.

To ensure a smooth handover, your first 3 months will require spending roughly 50% of your time at our Edinburgh office to learn directly from the existing manager (typically alternating weeks, or 3 days a week in Edinburgh). All travel and accommodation are fully paid. The remainder of the contract will be based at our Bolton HQ, working alongside the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Coordination: Managing the daily workload for our CAD Technicians and Rigging Managers, leading daily update meetings, and tracking team performance.
  • Deadline Management: Tracking event deadlines, answering client enquiries quickly, and ensuring safety-critical paperwork, drawings, and last-minute updates are completed on time.
  • Liaison: Working closely with a wide range of clients, venues, production teams, and our network of freelance Rigging Managers.

What We Are Looking For

  • People & Organisation Skills: Experience delegating work and coordinating a small, hybrid team split across different locations. You thrive under pressure and enjoy keeping busy workflows organised.
  • Software Competence: Strong confidence using a PC, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and ideally Google Workspace. Existing CAD skills are a bonus, but we can teach you how to navigate the software on the job.
  • Positive Outlook: The ability to thrive under pressure, and to remain a positive, calm communicator even when things aren’t going to plan.
  • Industry Knowledge: A background in live production or events is a big plus, but not essential.

Where And When Will You Be Working?

  • Location: Based at UK Rigging Headquarters (Bolton), with initial travel to Edinburgh
  • Position Type: 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract
  • Working Pattern: Office-based with hybrid team management, plus occasional site and client visits
  • Reporting To: Head of Venue Rigging
  • Schedule: 35 hours a week, split over Monday – Friday
  • Emergency Cover: This role requires paid emergency remote cover on a rota basis

Other Benefits

  • 25 days holiday (+ 8 Statutory) with holiday reward scheme for long-term service
  • Long closure for Christmas and New Year (included in the above allocation)
  • Regular team building events
  • Employee Assistance Program with access to free mental health support and cashback on your health expenses
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Onsite occupational therapist available to all employees

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Additional leave
  • Bereavement leave
  • Company events
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Health & wellbeing programme
  • On-site parking
