Full job description

We have an opportunity in our Streetworks team for a Streetworks Administrator to predominantly support all our projects across NI & Cumbria.

The role:

  • Raising, closing and managing notices/permits from end to end including start/stop, PMR, variations, recording excavations etc and completing safe dig prints
  • Processing TTR’s,TTRO and TTRN applications (depending on which projects working on across NI/GB) to various Highways Authorities
  • Completing risk assessments in line with SWUK protocol
  • Managing our works around other activities while focussing on collaborative working
  • Understanding of permit scheme legislation and the requirements for managing permit conditions
  • Liaising with the councils (DfI/Cumbria/Westmorland etc) to discuss works and amend where necessary
  • Provide streetworks administration support in accordance with business operations
  • Ensure compliance with all elements of streetworks legislation through effective management of notices, permits and other documents
  • Have the ability to react and deal with issues arising as a result of our works, escalating to Specialist or Team Lead where required.
  • Investigate reinstatement defects, including accepting, disputing, passing to 3rd party and updating trackers
  • Notifying relevant parties of over-runs and ensuring the appropriate council are updated with action taken
  • Reporting low and high risk fails in a timely manner, including the processing and accepting or disputing of the fail
  • Support the build team in dealing with customer complaints in relation to Streetworks/road closure activities and have the ability to resolve these in a quick and timely manner
  • Liaise with operations, local authorities and third parties to arrange bus stop / parking suspensions / road closures and use of portable traffic signals
  • Liaise and arrange traffic management alongside the traffic management team
  • Support the development of processes, workflows and efficiency improvements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Operations in relation to streetworks offences
  • Take part in the on call rota for weekend coverage of ‘starts and stops’ which is now part of the legislation for streetworks
  • General administrative duties

The person:

  • Strong scheduling experience and administrative background (essential)
  • Previous demonstratable experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • Driven and able to work autonomously with high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstratable experience of following processes and procedures and working to legislative requirements
  • Competent or advanced competency with Microsoft Office applications and experience of using company specific software
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Demonstrable organisation and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work on their own while still achieving deadlines
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks and focus on performance delivery while promoting efficiency improvements
