Full job description

The Role

Telecoms is one of our key strategic product areas, with significant growth plans over the next five years, and this role sits right at the heart of that journey.

As our Telecoms Commercial Growth Manager, you’ll join the Commercial team and take ownership of driving sales performance and revenue growth in the micro-business segment (1–9 employees) across all routes to market. You won’t carry an individual sales quota; instead, you’ll design, enable and optimise commercial initiatives that help frontline teams and channels sell more effectively.

You’ll shape propositions, unlock cross-sell opportunities, enhance channel performance and lead targeted growth campaigns that accelerate telecoms adoption. We’re looking for someone curious, commercially minded and energetic, someone who can manage multiple initiatives, influence stakeholders, simplify complex commercial challenges and bring ideas to life.

What we want you to do

You will be responsible for delivering commercial success by identifying, activating and scaling key growth opportunities. This includes:

  • Analysing the existing customer base to identify high-value cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
  • Assessing new business opportunities to increase telecoms penetration within the micro-business market.
  • Reviewing and optimising the mobile handset + SIM portfolio to improve customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Leading targeted growth initiatives, building robust business cases, securing stakeholder buy-in and tracking performance.
  • Identifying new commercial opportunities and partnerships across the UK B2B market to broaden reach.
  • Providing weekly and monthly insight-led performance reporting to senior leadership.
  • Working closely with Finance to validate business cases, monitor commercial performance and understand P&L implications.

What success in the role looks like

  • Increased telecoms penetration and revenue growth in the micro-business segment.
  • Tangible cross-sell and upsell improvements across all channels.
  • Delivery of high-impact commercial initiatives with measurable results.
  • Strong uplift in channel and product performance, especially mobile.
  • Insightful reporting that influences senior leadership decisions.

What you need to have already done to be right for this role

  • Experience delivering growth in commercial, business development, proposition or marketing roles.
  • Strong understanding of direct sales and partner channels.
  • Proven commercial modelling experience (e.g. CAC, payback) to support pricing and investment decisions.
  • Experience building/owning sales forecasts and funnel analytics.
  • Working knowledge of UK telecoms regulatory requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 4+ years in a Growth or Business Development Manager role, ideally with telecoms exposure (desirable).
  • CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot) is desirable.
  • Multi-product experience is desirable.

Skills

We’re looking for someone who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritise effectively and communicate ideas in a way that secures buy-in from internal stakeholders and external partners.

You will also bring:

  • Strong analytical ability, turning insights into clear commercial strategies.
  • Excellent influencing skills with the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • A data-curious mindset, able to dig beneath top-line performance to uncover real drivers.
  • Advanced Excel/financial modelling skills.
  • A balanced commercial approach that blends growth with sustainable economics.
