As we continue to grow and invest in our operations, we are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our production function and help shape the next phase of our development.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output.

You will play a key role in ensuring delivery performance, optimising resources, and driving continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

· Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules

  • Ensure production targets are achieved in line with capacity and resources
  • Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Logistics
  • Monitor work-in-progress and adjust plans to minimise delays

Operations Management

· Oversee day-to-day production operations

  • Ensure efficient workflow and optimal resource utilisation
  • Resolve production challenges (machine issues, material shortages, staffing)
  • Maintain accurate production reporting and tracking

Team Leadership & Development

· Lead and develop supervisors, team leaders, and operators

  • Set performance standards and conduct regular reviews
  • Identify training needs and support workforce development
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability and safety

Quality & Continuous Improvement

· Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications

  • Drive a “right first time” culture to reduce rework and waste
  • Lead or support lean and process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost

Health, Safety & Compliance

· Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation

  • Promote safe systems of work and carry out risk assessments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised production environment

Performance & Reporting

· Monitor KPIs including output, efficiency, scrap, and on-time delivery

  • Provide regular performance updates to senior management
  • Utilise ERP/MRP systems for planning and tracking

About You

Essential

· Proven experience in a Production Manager or senior manufacturing role

  • Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Good knowledge of health & safety requirements
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Confident using ERP/MRP systems and Excel

Desirable

· Experience within fabrication, engineering, or sheet metal

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
  • Experience with CNC or automated production environments

  • Hands-on, proactive, and solution-focused
  • Able to manage pressure and shifting priorities
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
