Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our professional culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences and support the overall kitchen operations. Previous kitchen experience and a passion for culinary arts are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
  • Support the team during busy service periods, ensuring timely meal preparation
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages or replenishment needs
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times to minimise risks in the kitchen
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the culinary team

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary practices
  • Previous experience in serving or assisting front-of-house staff is advantageous but not essential
  • A genuine passion for cuisine and continuous learning within the culinary arts
