Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Packaging Designer to join our team at a leading corrugated box manufacturing company. In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating impactful packaging solutions that combine functionality with eye-catching design. Your expertise will drive the development of custom packaging concepts, ensuring they meet both aesthetic standards and practical requirements. Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing corrugated boxes, packaging and fittings
  • Creating CAD drawings and samples using our CAD cutting equipment
  • Working from customer briefs to develop practical and cost-effective packaging solutions
  • Producing and despatching designs and drawings to customers and production
  • Managing and overseeing the CAD/design office
  • Liaising with customers regarding designs, specifications and amendments
  • Working closely with production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
  • Providing technical input and support to our sales team
  • Getting involved in customer enquiries and helping develop new packaging opportunities
  • Managing design priorities in a busy working environment
  • Ensuring drawings and designs are accurate and completed within required timescales

Skills
We are looking for someone who is:

  • Responsible, reliable and organised
  • Experienced in corrugated packaging design
  • Ideally has a minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience
  • Confident using CAD/design software and CAD cutting equipment
  • Able to interpret customer requirements and turn them into practical designs
  • Comfortable dealing directly with customers and supporting sales
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of the design department
  • Calm and organised when working to tight deadlines
  • A good communicator who can work effectively with production, sales and management
