About Fable & Wood

Fable & Wood is a luxury bespoke joinery and cabinetry company specialising in exceptional residential interiors throughout Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey and London.

Working alongside Zafiro Homes, we design, manufacture and install bespoke kitchens, dressing rooms, wardrobes, studies, media walls, bars, wine rooms and complete joinery packages for some of the finest private homes in the South East.

With a growing order book and a number of significant luxury residential projects currently underway, we are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Joinery Designer to join our team.

The Role

This is a key role within the business, working directly with our Head of Joinery to transform approved designs into detailed manufacturing information ready for workshop production and installation.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering multiple high-end residential projects by producing accurate technical drawings, manufacturing packs, cut lists and production information to the highest standard.

This position offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing luxury joinery business and help shape the future growth of Fable & Wood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed manufacturing and workshop drawings
  • Develop approved designs into production-ready information
  • Generate cut lists, material schedules and hardware schedules
  • Produce CNC production information where required
  • Carry out technical feasibility reviews prior to manufacture
  • Liaise closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
  • Attend site surveys and take accurate measurements where required
  • Support projects through manufacture, installation and completion
  • Assist in developing systems, standards and technical processes as the business grows

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within a bespoke joinery, cabinetry or fitted furniture business
  • Proven experience producing manufacturing and workshop drawings
  • Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes
  • Experience developing technical drawing packages for workshop production
  • Excellent technical detailing skills
  • Ability to work independently and solve technical challenges
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Software Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Cabinet Vision (preferred)
  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp
  • iMos
  • SolidWorks

Desirable Experience

  • Luxury residential joinery projects
  • CNC manufacturing processes
  • Site surveying and measuring
  • Material and hardware specification
  • Production planning and scheduling
