Junior AV Installation Technician – Cambridge area + travel – circa £22,000 + private health

Nexus Associates (part of Flywheel IT Services Ltd) are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Junior AV Installation Technician

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with high-end clientele, installing AV equipment, CCTV, Data cabling and eventually doing audits and surveys etc

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop their skills in the audiovisual industry and to work alongside and support our Senior AV Engineer.

We will provide all the training, including the necessary Health & Safety and Triple S certifications to enable you to work on construction sites etc

Responsibilities:

  • Physical installation of equipment ie projectors, plasma displays, speakers, smartboards and equipment racks and commissioning of the equipment
  • Read, understand and interpret the audio visual schematics and construction drawings
  • Attending site coordination meetings
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical problems during installation and provide appropriate solutions
  • Liaising with other internal departments, clients and contractors
  • Health and safety awareness ie “toolbox talks”
  • Attend training courses as necessary
  • Collaborate with customers and other team members to ensure smooth installations and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during interactions with clients.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork accurately.

Requirements:

- A valid driving license and access to your own car to travel to various job sites.

- Reliable, self-driven, and organized with excellent time management skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.

- Confident with using hand tools and power tools and understanding the correct fixings/methods for the job

- Comfortable interacting with customers

- Proven and demonstrable interest in AV, CCTV and data cabling

- Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is required but if you have some experience of working on construction sites that would add value or similar equipment installations

- Some overnight stays

You will generally work in a 2-man team with a Senior AV Engineer

This is a very physical job involving carrying large screens (around 55"), ladder work, use of hand tools including drills, bracketry, cabling, and basic setup configuration work.

Applicants must have a flexible attitude, a full manual UK drivers’ licence, no issues passing a DBS check

Full time permanent position with paid holidays, pension etc.
