WE ARE FIRST CONNECT, THE FIRST CHOICE FOR FIRE AND SECURITY SYSTEMS IN EAST ANGLIA. First Connect are an SSAIB accredited Security systems installation and maintenance company with a fantastic trading history in East Anglia of over 20 years. Across the region’s commercial and domestic sectors, we specialise in the design and maintenance of intruder, fire, CCTV and door access control systems. As an insurance approved SSAIB installer, our security systems comply with the latest advanced British and European industry standards utilising the most modern technologies available; all designed and installed to bespoke specifications.

First Connect are looking for a fire and security engineer with experience in intruder alarms, fire alarms, VSS, access control and emergency lights, to mainly carry out installations - experience in the servicing and maintenance of these systems would also be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will need to have at least three years previous experience as an installation engineer in the fire and security industry and be able to work on their own initiative to SSAIB industry standards.

You will need to show common sense, work well alone or as part of a team and have a 'can-do attitude'. You will also need to be a good timekeeper, customer orientated with good communication skills.

This role includes call out shifts on a rota basis.

A full UK driving licence is required.

Our office is located in Long Stratton but we cover the whole of East Anglia.

The Role

  • Carry out installations to industry standards, SSAIB
  • Carry out system commissioning and handovers to customers.
  • Carry out fault findings on systems.
  • Meet predefined target times for installation.
  • Clear and concise communication with supervisor regarding customer issues.
  • Electronic reporting.
  • Effective control of stock & vehicle audit.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety.
  • To present a professional appearance.
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Basic hours are 40 hrs per week plus cover for out of hours on-call on planned regular basis and overtime available. This role includes call out shifts on a rota basis.
  • Expected average potential earning, including overtime, of c£38k.

You will be provided with:

  • Company van and fuel card (with option to use van privately).
  • Laptop.
  • Mobile phone.
