TO BE BASED IN AND AROUND LONDON

We are looking for an experienced engineer who will work alongside an trainee engineer and will be responsible for undertaking various pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks and new installation works encompassing either, CCTV, Access Control, Security Systems equipment.

You must demonstrate a knowledge of Security System British/EN Standard and knowledge of NSI Standards. You will take responsibility for all assigned projects from commencement to completion. You will complete these projects in a manner that exceeds our customers’ expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company policies and procedure. You will be required to work on several projects and have the ability to multitask and plan critical requests from Clients.

GSS Management Services Ltd is a growing security services company providing CCTV, Security guarding and associate security services to clients across the construction industry. Our growth means we need more people with the right attitude to identity and solve problems.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

· Installation, servicing / maintenance, testing, commissioning of Intruder Alarm Systems – IP Surveillance Systems or related equipment, following drawing of electrical layouts and building plans in accordance with SSAIB and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies.

· Providing a quality installation in the most methodical and efficient manner, including the ability to digest detailed scope of works and working drawings.

· Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues with video losses, connection issues, cable cuts and testing the systems each time with the monitoring station to ensure detection is working as it should.

· Cleaning and checking full system on each site visit.

· Liaising and communicating with site teams to inform them about works being carried out, requesting remedial works, and conducting site surveys.

· Liaising with ARC (Alarm receiving centres)

· Production of high-quality commissioning and handover documentation and as fit drawings.

· Maintaining a safe work environment at all times and have a good understanding of Health and Safety i.e., Method, Risk assessments, safe working procedures etc.

· Client training and demonstration of systems to explain the systems working and functionality.

· Attend staff meetings and health and safety toolbox talks.

· Collect and drop equipment off either from the main office in Wetherby, the farm in Thorp Arch, or other teams.

· Completing Go Canvas/maintenance forms forms for each site visit whether this is an install, maintenance or decommission visit.

· Reporting and communicating any issues to the management team.

· Any other ad-hoc task requested by GSS.

· Mentor and train the trainee engineer.

Technical Competencies - Essential

· Demonstrate a good general knowledge of all Security Systems.

· Demonstrate strong communication skills.

· Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy and timeliness of submission of same.

· Complete any relevant health and safety tests/qualifications required to access site and carry out works above.

· Full Driving License (subject to inspection for company insurances)

· Employment will be subject to successful BS7858 security screening and Enhanced Disclosure Check (DBS).

· Must be willing to work away for up to 4 nights a week (England, Scotland and Wales) and stay overnight in hotels (hotels provided by GSS and £25.00 overnight allowance granted)
