About the Opportunity

Bolt Technical are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering company.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern machining environment, producing complex components for a variety of high-tech industries.

You’ll play a key role on the shop floor, setting, operating, and supporting CNC machining processes to deliver high-quality and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC machining centres (3, 4 & 5 axis)
  • Manufacture complex aerospace components to tight tolerances and customer specifications
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Conduct first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
  • Complete production, inspection and quality documentation accurately
  • Ensure all components meet aerospace quality and technical standards
  • Support efficient machine utilisation and production workflow
  • Assist with troubleshooting machining and production issues
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily equipment checks
  • Operate FLT and overhead crane equipment safely where required
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop

What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machining centres
  • Experience working with 3, 4 and 5-axis machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds engineering qualification (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of Heidenhain controls (advantageous)
  • Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls beneficial
  • Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
  • Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement
