CNC Setter / Programmer

Location: Southam, Warwickshire
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £37,440–£41,600 per year, depending on experience

RM Design & Engineering Ltd is a growing design and engineering company specialising in high-quality tooling, jigs and fixtures for a wide range of industries.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join our production team.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating our large 5-axis CMS CNC machines, producing tooling and components from CAD data.

This role would suit someone who enjoys varied, hands-on work and wants to be part of a small, skilled and supportive engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate large 5-axis CMS CNC machines
  • Manufacture tooling and components from CAD data
  • Create and optimise CNC programs using CAM software
  • Use Autodesk PowerMill, with training available for candidates experienced in other CAM systems
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Monitor machining operations and maintain quality standards
  • Support other production activities when required
  • Work with the team to meet deadlines and customer requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of machining processes and tooling
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, practical and able to work independently
  • Positive attitude and good teamwork skills

Experience with large-format or 5-axis CNC machines is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Salary and Benefits

  • £37,440–£41,600 per year, depending on experience
