CNC Programmer – Wood Manufacturing

Swale, Kent
£35,000–£45,000 DOE + overtime + benefits
Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm

Are you a skilled CNC Programmer who enjoys turning technical drawings into precise, high-quality finished components?

A growing specialist manufacturer is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join its well-equipped workshop. You’ll work on varied, bespoke projects using wood and wood-based materials—so this is a role for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, not repeatedly running the same programme.

You must be able to programme as well as operate CNC machinery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creating CNC programmes from technical drawings and CAD/DXF files
  • Programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC machinery
  • Selecting tooling and planning efficient machining methods
  • Optimising programmes to improve accuracy and reduce material waste
  • Checking finished components against drawings and specifications
  • Troubleshooting programming and machining issues
  • Working closely with production and workshop colleagues
  • Contributing ideas to improve quality, efficiency and workflow

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands-on CNC programming experience
  • Experience within furniture, joinery, cabinetry or wood manufacturing
  • Confidence reading technical drawings and working with CAD/CAM files
  • Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining principles
  • The ability to programme, set and operate CNC machinery
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A reliable approach and pride in producing accurate work
