Cable & Splicing Services (CASS) is a leading provider in the telecommunications sector, delivering high-quality infrastructure and customer solutions across the UK. We are currently seeking experienced and accredited Telecoms Cable Enablement Engineer Gangs to join our growing team on a long-term basis, to work in the Swindon area.

About the Role:

As a Cable Enablement Engineer, you will come a s a 2-Man Gang, responsible for deploying fibre installation services to customer premises, including both underground (UG) and overhead (OH) installations via PIA and client networks. This role may require civil engineering work, including some light digging as part of the installation process.

Reporting to the Head of Field Delivery, you will represent the company on the front line, ensuring high standards of technical delivery and customer service while working in and around residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey and prepare fibre routes for installation, including both underground (UG) and overhead (OH) networks
  • Support the field and project teams by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Liaise with the project office to coordinate pre-installations, installations, and service appointments

What We're Looking For:

  • Skilled and experienced in both OH and UG fibre cabling, with the relevant industry accreditations (this is essential)
  • Knowledgeable in fibre terminology and capable of communicating technical concepts clearly to both customers and colleagues
  • Personable, approachable, and professional in appearance and conduct, with a strong customer-facing presence
  • Empathetic and friendly, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers and team members
  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional service, always ready to go the extra mile
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and outdoor environments

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent as a minimum
  • IPAF 1b
  • NRSWA unit 2
  • K8 (Hand rodding in UG network)
  • PIA experience desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working at height from a ladder and cabling from up to 11m telegraph poles
  • Experience in lone & team working and health and safety requirements that are specific to working at height
  • Practical experience in a customer-facing role
  • Have a current full UK manual driving license for a minimum of 12 months
  • Clear DBS
  • NOPS Smart Awards Card
