*Please note, you must have barista experience with latte art skills and a passion for coffee.
You must be available for weekend shifts. The job is 4-5 days per week.
You'll also be able to travel to Saffron Walden easily.

We’re a busy speciality cafe, searching for a friendly, experienced, and dedicated Barista and Front of House Team Member. This role combines expert coffee preparation and front-of-house service, welcoming customers, crafting high-quality beverages, and ensuring a clean, inviting atmosphere. What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 1 year of barista experience with a strong track record in customer service.
  • Impressive latte art skills are a huge bonus.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional product quality and a memorable customer experience.
  • Ability to multitask, stay calm, and work effectively under pressure - this is really important, as we have periods of rushes in the cafe and the barista must be able to deal with these quickly and calmly
  • Strong communication skills, supporting team members and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and demonstrating reliability.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

As our Barista, you will:

  • Engage with customers: Welcome customers, understand their preferences, and recommend beverages tailored to their liking.
  • Expertly prepare drinks: Craft an array of high-quality coffees, teas, and other beverages with precision, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Latte Art: Consistently create appealing coffee art that enhances the visual appeal of each cup.
  • Counter Service: Assist with the front counter during quieter periods, serving counter food, operating the till, and supporting waiting staff in serving freshly made food and beverages.
  • Sales Focus: Contribute to revenue growth by maximising sales and customer spend, while managing costs to maintain quality.

As our Cafe Assistant, you will:

  • Customer Interaction: Provide warm, friendly service, anticipating customer needs and ensuring every guest feels welcomed.
  • Order Delivery: Serve hot drinks and food to tables, ensuring accurate, timely delivery.
  • Café Upkeep: Clear and reset tables, wash up, and keep the café clean and tidy throughout the day.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with kitchen and barista staff to ensure smooth service and a positive environment.
  • Customer Service: Handle all customer inquiries with professionalism, address any concerns, and go the extra mile to provide memorable service.
