Job Overview:

Join our team as a cafe all-rounder. In this dynamic role, you’ll be creating specialty coffee beverages, preparing food items, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

We are a friendly team of 7-8. The cafe is often busy with a relaxed atmosphere, music playing and regular local customers chatting. We serve an all-day breakfast menu as well as toasties and a variation of hot and cold drinks.

At the Crazy Goat we are looking for someone organised, tidy and efficient and passionate about food/coffee. Somebody who notices the things that need doing, places that need cleaning and tables which need clearing and who makes a concerted effort to remember customers and make them feel special.

High standards of food safety and cleanliness are expected to be maintained.

Our menu is small and simple. We are ideally looking for someone with cooking experience as we need help on the weekends as soon as possible.

If you have a Level 2 food hygiene qualification that would be even better.

Perks:

- professional coffee training with Origin coffee in London

- flexible working hours

Hours and available shifts:

Monday - Thursday = 8:30am - 3pm

Friday - Saturday = 8:30am - 3:30pm

Sunday = 8:30am - 2:30pm

You will be needed at least one day most weekends in the kitchen from 9am until 2/3pm and a few times during the week usually in the front of house. 15-20 hours will be expected weekly.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Prepare food in a small kitchen, including sandwiches, full-English breakfasts, and various brunch items, following recipes and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper sanitation practices and handling procedures at all times.
  • Keep the workspace clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
  • Support the team during peak hours by multitasking between the coffee bar, food prep, and customer service as needed.

Experience

  • Previous barista and kitchen experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions accurately.
