Full job description

Who we're looking for

Previous experience working in a coffee roastery isn't essential. This is primarily a packing and production role, so we're much more interested in how you work than whether you already have extensive coffee knowledge.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys practical, repetitive work and takes satisfaction in doing it exceptionally well
  • Works quickly and efficiently without allowing standards or accuracy to slip
  • Is comfortable working to daily production and dispatch deadlines
  • Can stay focused when packing larger volumes of orders
  • Is methodical and accurate with weighing, assembling packaging and order preparation
  • Naturally keeps their workspace clean and organised
  • Is comfortable being on their feet and with regular heavy lifting
  • Can work independently and take responsibility for getting a production list completed
  • Notices mistakes and inconsistencies rather than simply carrying on
  • Understands that efficiency and quality aren't opposites - we care about both

Experience in packing, fulfilment, production, warehouse or other deadline-driven operational work would be particularly relevant, although it isn't essential.

An interest in speciality coffee is very important even though this isn't primarily a coffee-making or roasting position. Most days will involve packing coffee, preparing orders, cleaning, moving stock and helping the roastery run smoothly.

For someone who excels at the core role and becomes a trusted part of the roastery, there will be opportunities to learn more about coffee, participate in cuppings and QC, and potentially develop into responsibilities such as sample roasting over time.

Pay: From £13.50 per hour

Work Location: In person
